Question 1

What does TXF actually do?

Accepted Answer

TXF is AI tax document extraction for tax professionals. It analyzes the documents a client sends, from W-2s and the 1099 series to 1098s and prior-year returns (40+ document types in all), and extracts the values you would otherwise type by hand. You review each value beside its source, then export the reviewed data to Drake or ProConnect.

Question 2

Is TXF AI tax preparation software?

Accepted Answer

It's the data-entry half of it. AI handles the analysis and data entry: identifying each document and extracting its values. You still do the preparation: reviewing every value, correcting what needs it, and finishing the return in your own tax software. TXF makes you faster. It doesn't replace you.

Question 3

Do I still review everything?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Extraction gives you a starting point, not a finished return. Every value is shown next to the line on the source document it came from, so checking it takes a glance, and corrections are made in place and auto-save before anything is exported.

Question 4

Which tax documents does TXF support?

Accepted Answer

40+ document types: W-2 and W-2C; the 1099 series (INT, DIV, B, MISC, NEC, R, G, K and more); SSA-1099; 1098, 1098-E and 1098-T; 1095-A; 5498; Schedule C and E, profit and loss statements and balance sheets; prior-year returns; and supporting items like property taxes, estimated taxes and charitable donations. Files can be PDFs (including consolidated PDFs), JPEG, PNG, XLSX, CSV or TXT, up to 50 MB each. K-1s are not supported.

Question 5

How do clients get documents to us?

Accepted Answer

Upload them yourself by drag-and-drop, or use Request files from client: TXF emails the client a secure link that lets them upload straight into their own work request, with no access to anything else in TXF. Their files appear in the work request for your review.

Question 6

Which tax software does TXF work with?

Accepted Answer

Drake Tax (2024–2025), as a file you import, and Intuit ProConnect (2019–2025), where TXF creates the client return directly. K-1s aren't supported for either. If you use something else, get in touch and we can talk through your setup.

Question 7

Can our AI agents or other tools use TXF?

Accepted Answer

That's where TXF is heading. We're building an MCP server so the same document extraction you use in TXF can be called from the AI agents and assistants you already work with, such as Claude, Cursor or any other MCP-compatible tool. If you'd like early access, get in touch.

Question 8

What happens if a client sends more documents later?

Accepted Answer

Re-run the work request. TXF adds the missing items to the existing return at no extra cost; duplicates are detected and excluded automatically.

Question 9

How is TXF priced?

Accepted Answer

Per return, as low as $20. You buy credits, one per work request, and the more you buy at once, the less each one costs, across the whole purchase. Your first 3 are free, with no minimum and no card required. For larger volumes, get in touch.

Question 10

Where is client data stored?

Accepted Answer

On Google Cloud infrastructure in the United States. When you request files from a client, their link is scoped to that one work request and nothing else. See the Security & Compliance section of the TXF Resource Center for detail.
